Umm I happen to live in mira mesa and isn’t that bad. You guys act like its some low class part of san diego where all tha gangbangers go. When most of mira mesa is FILIPINOS. So your scared of lil filipinos tryna beat you up? Why do you think its called manilla mesa idiots.mira mesa also happens to be a middle class neighborhood. Look over towards lemon grove dumbasses. Sorrento Mesa is a SUBAREA of the Mira Mesa Community Plan.

In other words, it is the Mira Mesa Community who planned the development of Sorrento Mesa.

Therefore, technically Sorrenta Mesa is under the Mira Mesa Community.

Just like other areas where Chula Vista has some old areas and new developed areas. Escondido has old areas and newly developed areas. Mira Mesa is the same thing.

Of course, the ones who reside/work in the better developed areas become snobs and go, I am from the Sorrento Mesa not Mira Mesa.

So basically, if you work or live between I-805 and I-15, you are part of the Mira Mesa Community.

So if the people from Sorrento Mesa HATE being affiliate with Mira Mesa, I am sorry to say that it is in the bloodline – Sorrento Mesa people are a subset of the Mira Mesa Community whether you like it or not. The Mira Mesa Community created you.

It is very easy to determine Mira Mesa from Sorrento Mesa.

Mira Mesa has a Zip code of 92126.

Sorrento Mesa is anything between Camino Santa Fe and 805 which has a zip code of 92121.

If your zip code is 92126, then you can’t deny it, you live in Mira Mesa.

The identity crisis really came to a head a couple years ago when the ‘Welcome to Mira Mesa’ sign went up at the end of the I-805 off-ramp to the Mira Mesa Boulevard / Sorrento Valley Road exit.

We nearly had a triple doozy when a ‘Morton’s of La Jolla’ was proposed to be built at the corner of Scranton and Mira Mesa Blvd. I guess it was a good thing that fell through.

…when every other car isn’t a honda/acura, and don’t feel coerced to re-enact the “Fast and Furious” on the way to the grocery store. also, there will be a few less frozen yogurt shops around. that’s how you know you’re not in Mira Mesa anymore.

haha the way to tell you’re entering Sorrento Mesa is when you get to the police radar traps set up on Calle Cristobal to pull over people coming out of Mira Mesa… The man gotta keep dem people down!
